More Questions About Paying Your Dues

Can I pay in instalments?

Some members find a single annual payment difficult, especially community groups whose income arrives unevenly through the year. If paying the full amount at once is a problem, get in touch before your renewal date rather than after it. Explaining your situation early gives everyone more room to find a workable arrangement, and it keeps your listing in the directory active while you talk.

Which currency should I use?

In Phnom Penh, everyday transactions often involve both US dollars and Cambodian riel. Your renewal notice shows the currency your dues are set in. If you pay in a different currency, or through a bank or mobile payment app, exchange rates and transfer fees may change the amount that actually arrives. Check the final figure before you confirm, and keep the transaction reference.

How do I know my payment was received?

Keep a record of every payment, whether that is an online confirmation, a bank transfer slip or a paper receipt from an office visit. If you have not received an acknowledgement within a reasonable time, send your reference details through the contact page so the payment can be matched to your membership record. This matters most when an organisation pays on behalf of several people, or when the payer's name is different from the member's name.

Do chapter members pay separately?

Local chapters may run their own activities and costs alongside the main membership. If you belong to a chapter, ask its organisers whether any contribution is collected separately or whether everything is covered by your main dues. The chapters page gives an overview of the groups currently listed.

What does my membership fee support?

Dues help keep shared resources running: maintaining member and organisation profiles, sharing event information and supporting the general coordination that links community groups across the city. Paying on time helps that work continue without interruption.

Tips for a smooth renewal

  • Update your contact details so renewal notices reach the right person.
  • Note the due date in a shared calendar if your organisation has rotating officers.
  • Keep receipts together with your other organisational records for audits or handovers.
  • Ask an accountant or adviser if you are unsure how dues should appear in your group's accounts.
